HDSN started its first pilot project on school brushing program in Maidi VDC of Dhading with a vision to include all the 22 schools there into the program. The first part of the program where influencing and forming a TOR with the school management committee and the local NGO is now complete. In its first part of work, with the support of the money received from Mr. Hans and Dr. Thomas Holt and his group, HDSN started its work. It began with a one day teachers training program conducted by Dr. Kiran Raj Awasthi. After this 6 schools selected by the local NGO were taken into consideration to start this project. A small survey on the oral hygiene behaviour and status was conducted with the help of Dr. Binek Neupane, Dr. Bijay Tamang, Mr. Aaditya Rai, Mr. Rozen Baidhya, Mr. Suryadeep Basnyat, Mr. Navin Mouny and Mr Ajay Basnet in these six schools. Simultaneously a year round brushing program was also conducted in all the six schools where the students were handed out their own toothbrush to brush at school daily.
