The team of HDSN, AWB and Quake volunteers headed of to Thulo Sirubari of Sindhupalchowk for an integrated camp. The VDC was highly affected with reports of 77 deaths during the recent earthquake and the site of the camp was in the heart of the most affected population. The team left early from the HDSN office and reached the site at 10:30. A good breakfast along the way helped us kick start the camp immediately and by the end of the day we had all together benefited close to 255 people who had come from different corners of the VDC. The dental team Coordinated by Dr. Bijay Tamang saw 125 patients out of which 80 received extractions, 15 restorations and 5 fluoride applications. Meanwhile the medical team treated well over 160 patients and the acupuncture team attending to 47 people. It was great to see two of our shelters serving a purpose there supported by Help Nepal Network. These had been installed more than 45 days ago and were being used as a store and a birthing centre. The birthing centre had already fostered 3 births till date and a new baby is expected next week. Hopefully we get some smiling picture of the new one to arrive. The healthpost permanent alternative was also discussed the building process which had already begun yet halted due to the lack of resources. We have asked the incharge to provide us with details of the costing so we can look at possible way to support the completion in our own way. After a long day the team arrived at dark back to base. The logistics and travel of the camp was funded by our friend Stephen O’Neill and his friends while the bulk of medicines were supported by Americares. As per the request we left 5 cartoons of medications for the healthpost supported by the same. We have coordinated 7 shelters to be installed in various VDCs of Lamjung in partnership with a local partner. The shelters will head off hopefully by 9th of October and the team of HDSN will head off with its friends for an integrated camp in Lamjung at the same time along with the shelters. We have also received information that the fifth shelter a large one is already up at Arughat supported by WOREC and will be used as a transit home. Meanwhile the two shelters for physiotherapy and rehabilitation clinic will head off to Nuwakot and Rasuwa by Tuesday
